Day of Action 2015

The first ever United Way Week Long Day of Action kicked off on June 21st and lasted the entire week! A variety of projects at non-profit organizations, schools, and churches including painting, hosting a mobile food pantry, sprucing up landscaping, training in CPR, holding a food drive, and tending to a family garden, were available for individuals and company teams to choose their Day of Action. Over 265 volunteers gave 1,945.5 hours of their time in 18 different locations throughout Hardin, Breckinridge, Grayson, LaRue, and Meade Counties. SpringHaven, the Grayson County Alliance, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Breck-Grayson Programs, Shepherd’s Pie, and the Meade County Ministerial Association were among the locations.

United Way of Central Kentucky also hosted its first ever Board Expo where the Young Professional’s Network and other community members learned about volunteer leadership opportunities available within non-profit organizations.
